Tourist Sign for Greyfriars Friary in Leicester
King Richard III 's remains were discovered under a car park on the site of the Greyfriars Friary in September 2012. A team from the University of Leicester led the excavation which was initiated by an Edinburgh based writer Philippa Langley. His remains were reburied in March 2015 in a tomb inside Leicester Cathedral. The Cathedral is situated just 30 metres from the spot where his remains were discovered.
