Hundreds of thousands of people cheered the athletes who travelled on 21 floats through the streets of London from Mansion House in the City of London to The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. The Victory Parade included both GBR Olympic and Paralympic athletes and was not restricted to those who won medals. Those spectators not fortunate enough to have a ticket for the Mall, were able to watch the whole parade and the closing speeches on a large video screen in Trafalgar Square. A flypast by British Airways and the Royal Air Force marked the end of the day. Use the search box on the right hand side to search for specific subjects. |
