Sir Terry Wogan, veteran broadcaster has one of the most Recognisable Faces and Voices in Britain

Sir Terry Wogan definitely has a position of "national treasure" in Britain in the 21st Century. Well known for his radio and Television work, he left his native Ireland to work for the BBC in the late 1960's. He stopped most of his TV work around 2010 but still presents the annual BBC charity appeal show, Children in Need.
